Summer Bay Blogger - Season Finale Teasers

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=30

This season's cliffhanger will see the year's longest running storylines for Marilyn, Leah, and Alf come to a dramatic head.

One character will be betrayed in an awful way by a face from the past.
One will have a terrible case of "déjà vu".
And one will suffer an ordeal with strong links to one of the show's first big storylines.

The culmination of these storylines will heavily involve the returning characters mentioned in a previous post as their seperate stories intertwine into a dramatic finale. And Alf, Marilyn and Leah aren't the only characters to be affected. In the closing chapters of the year:

One of the teens will make a big sacrifice for love.
John will decide to reach out to a face from his past.
A video tape will ruin a delicate frienship beyond repair.
One character will leave the Bay against their will, another will leave in the same style they arrived, and a third will leave under arrest.
Gina struggles with whether to trust a potential ally.

...Oh, and the entire finale will take place during a big wedding storyline that ends first in a dramatic twist and then a romantic one.

As usual, please comment below if you enjoy my spoilers and want to keep reading them.

EDIT: In record time (about 5 minutes!!) the entire post above was copied and pasted onto another site despite my request not to do so. Therefore I will seriously be considering whether or not to post any more teasers. Thanks to beau_t for pointing this out.

Summer Bay Blogger - Preview: The New Surf Club

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=29

With Noah's Bar closing and Angelo's Restaurant opening, construction work is well under way for the new look Surf Club - one of the biggest set revamps the show has seen!

The new club (full name Summer Bay Surf Life Saving Club) is bright, modern, spacious, and cool! It's very white, very shiney, and very big!

Below is an exclusive guide to the design.

The main social area of the club is (like the Diner) a 4-walled set, with 2 white walls, one purple, and one being large frosted glass doors which open out onto the beach, mirroring the real-life exterior. The doors have "SLSC: Summer Bay" printed on them. Tucked behind this area is the new open plan fitness section, which is painted green, with doors leading to changing rooms and toilets. The gym is smaller than in previous years, but like the more original versions of the set, is more intergrated with the rest of the club.

Back into the main foyer and taking centre stage (as always) is the new blue pool table. A small Gelato kiosk sells ice cream and smoothies from a glass counter and is supplemented by a seating area of modern shaped, colourful chairs. The back (purple) wall has higher tables with stools and high-up windows matching the exterior building at Palm Beach. The opposite end of the room contains a boutique selling magazines and surf, skateboard and fashion items. The shop counter is backdropped with a white, glass staircase leading up to Angelo's restaurant. At the bottom of the stairs are two doorways, one leading to a stock room and the other leading through to the blue painted surf club office (where John Palmer resides).

Upstairs into Angelo's and again the theme is modern. Again, a 4-walled set with large glass doors on one wall. The entrance (from the top of the stairs) is backdropped by doors leading off to toilets, while the main doorway opens out into the restaraunt, a large minimalist room with very long tables taking up the centre of the room, but smaller more intimate tables by the windows and comfortable boothed areas along the opposite wall. The theme throughout the entire restaurant is white and minimalist with the only real splash of colour coming from the bar which is at the opposite end of the restaraunt from the entrance. A doorway leads through to kitchens in one direction and goes behind the bar in the other which is cut into the wall and has a coloured glass backdrop behind the bottles of alcohol. The large glass doors open out onto a balcony area with black metal railings, for dining alfresco with a view over the beach.

Seem like a lot to take in? Don't worry, an episode is coming your way to help your eyes adjust and allow you to get your bearings!

In an episode that takes place entirely in the Surf Club during the renovations, characters are working together to paint, decorate, and arrange the new layout, providing lots of opportunity for some characters to talk and get to know more about each other, but forcing others to work together who may not really want to...

Thanks for the comments they are really appreciated

Summer Bay Blogger - Marilyn's Story

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=28

Mr Oddly's first appearance in Home and Away was in the backseat of Marilyn's car as she drove into Summer Bay. And he isn't the only thing from that car journey that needed explaining! What about Marilyn's phone call? At the time it may have seemed like a throw-away conversation to introduce Marilyn back on our screens, but there is actually a lot more to it.

The mysterious "Mitzy" to whom Marilyn was talking will eventually be joining Maz in Summer Bay and a lot more about why Marilyn returned to the Bay will be revealed. However Mitzy's motives for coming to town are questionable and despite Marilyn's insistance to the contrary, she will not be trusted by everyone.

Summer Bay Blogger - Martha And Hugo: Gone But Not Forgotten

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=27

Summer Bay Blogger here again with more hints of what's to come this year in Summer Bay.

Martha and Hugo may have fled the Bay but their disappearance will continue to play an important part in the storylines as we head towards the season finale this year.

This is not like Kane and Kirsty who went on the run knowing they were innocent of the crimes they were accused of. The fact is that two important Home and Away characters have broken some serious laws and they know it. The fact they are currently in hiding is not something that can just be forgotten about because they are offscreen.

Those that Martha and Hugo left behind have some important decisions to make later in the year, with one of the big returning characters that I mentioned in a previous post being directly linked to this story.

Summer Bay Blogger - Rachel And Tony

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=26

Rachel and Tony have become (in)famous for their massive differences of opinion and passionate arguements and their upcoming exit storyline is going to be no different!

A face from Rachel's past comes to the Bay with a massive proposition for her, but Tony is not so happy about what the idea entails and even less keen on who is proposing it!

A massive ongoing arguement errupts between Rachel and Tony that could see the end of their marraige, and the only way to fix it means one of them has to make a sacrifice for the other's happiness. But who's it going to be? As we have seen this year with the boxing storyline, both Rachel and Tony have strong opinions and can be as stubborn as each other. The arguement becomes so bad that eventually friends and family such as Leah and Gina try to get involved but seem to get nowhere.

Until Rachel has the idea of inviting a face from Tony's past back to the Bay...

Summer Bay Blogger - Bianca Scott

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=25

April Scott, the bright and bubbly teen who has made an impression on Xavier, will soon be joined in the Bay by her older sister Bianca.

Bianca Scott likes the finer things in life, and sees herself as slightly above Summer Bay and its people. But she's not mean or bitchy about it - well, except to one particular character who can't seem to get enough of it!

Bianca's arrival and indeed much of her character is shrouded in mystery. After arriving in town on a moped, she has a somewhat iconic scene on the beach witnessed by only one other character - a moment that she refuses point blank to talk about or explain to anybody. Colleen soon discovers that Bianca is fluent in Italian - has she lived there at some point?

She is close to her sister April despite their different personalities, and before long Bianca has settled in the Bay with a new job and new friends. But why have they come to the Bay and what is Bianca running away from? Another slow burning story from the 2010 writers? Or a shock twist waiting to happen?

Summer Bay Blogger - 2010: Year Of Returnees

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=24

Teasers below...

Home and Away has always been exceptional at honouring its history, and remembering and using its past characters. Well, the 2010 season will be no exception! We've already witnessed the hugely successful return of Marilyn, soon to be followed by the return of the Walker family... so who's next?

Can't say too much at present, other than some very memorable characters from different eras of the show will all be returning later this year, including one who is long overdue a return to the Bay! Their returns will be pivotal to the 2010 storyline as it unfolds.

Watch this space for more info. All I can add right now is that 2010 will be remembered as the year of classic returns!

Summer Bay Blogger - What To Expect From The "New" Family

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=23

Well most of you will have probably guessed by now that the 3 returnees from last year, that I mentioned in a previous post, were indeed the Walker family. The popular trio - Sid, Indy and Dexter - will be back on our screens soon on a pemenant basis.

They will move into an already existing set on the show, that will have recently been left empty. Sid and Indy will enrole at Summer Bay High, and Sid will strike up a good working relationship with Rachel in the hospital, but will face a much harder time from the nursing staff, including good old Nurse Julie.

Indy and Nicole do not look forward to bumping into each other again, but do their best to put the past behind them. Sid and Nicole also take this approach, but find it easier said than done.

Due to other commitments of the previous actor, the character of Dex has been recast. The new actor brings a lot more fun to the character, and has an excellent on-screen chemistry with his sister. He is more of a sarcastic smart-alec with a very unique sense of humour, and finds he doesn't quite fit into the surfer-dude image of most Summer Bay boys.

As for romance, Indy sets her sights on one Summer Bay local almost as soon as she arrives in the Bay, but does he have too much on his mind to even notice her?
Sid's love life is never quiet much to the embarrassment of his kids, and even Dex sets his sights on a much loved Summer Bay heroine.

Summer Bay Blogger - Final Set Revamp + New Business In The Bay

http://www.summerbayjournal.com/chat/index.php?app=blog&blogid=20&showentry=22

Some more teasers....

Home and Away continues to visually improve its sets, and the biggest change is yet to come. Summer Bay Surf Club has seen many revamps over the years, from the humble beginnings of a pool table in an empty room, to the introduction of a kiosk in 1992, a gym in 1996, and finally a juice bar in 2004.

But the biggest change is yet to come, as the Surf Club is to undergo not only a brand new look and layout, but it's to gain a new floor as well! The "upstairs" area will house Home and Away's first permenant on-screen restaurant. The owner? Let's just say the change in the surf club coincides with a big change in a certain character's role in the show.

As for how the rest of the Surf Club will look... you'll just need to wait and see!

Marilyn's also got business plans in her mind, starting with Alf's Bait Shop... Or more to the point, what she intends to set up in Alf's Bait Shop.

Alf is reluctant to share his premises, especially considering what Maz has got in mind - the two businesses would be like chalk and cheese. But the real opposition comes from Colleen who reaches new lows in her bitterness against Marilyn with a campaign to ruin Maz's business before it even gets started!

Spoilers below...

Things will be getting freaky for Alf when he is forced to relive emotional childhood memories of his worst fear. Living in Summer Bay House will become unbearable for the poor man and who can blame him? Some very creepy episodes are afoot...

So just what or who is Alf so afraid of? Eagle eyed viewers may have an idea - the culprit has already made a cameo appearance in an earlier episode this season.

Can Alf face up to his fears once and for all?
